Strawberry Half Marathon Success

Strawberry SuccessThe Asthma Society of Ireland would like to extend our thanks to all the runners, participants, supporters and organisers involved in the Strawberry Half Marathon in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford. Everyone helped to make Sunday 24th June a very special day. The event fundraisers helped to raise much needed funds for the Asthma Society to help our on-going work to prevent unnecessary deaths from asthma.

It was a particularly poignant day for local woman Anne Robinson, who celebrated the life of her son Alex Robinson who sadly passed away 25 years ago from an asthma attack. The Asthma Society was chosen as the nominated charity for this year’s event to honour Alex’s memory and mark the 25th anniversary in a special way. Anne and the extended Robinson family were out in force, running, walking, fundraising, and providing stewarding for the event on the day.

Unlike the weather we have been experiencing recently, the sun came out and it turned into a spectacular day that was thoroughly enjoyed by all those taking part. The Asthma Society would like to sincerely thank everyone who helped with the event and supported the fundraisers. There will be a cheque presented by Anne Robinson to the Asthma Society, on behalf of the fundraisers, in the coming weeks.

If you would like to fundraise for the Asthma Society of Ireland and help us work towards reducing asthma deaths, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please call 01 817 8886 or email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
