Announcing Barry Murphy as an ambassador
Swimming star and 2012 Team Ireland Olympian Barry Murphy is one of the newest Asthma Society of Ireland ambassadors. Barry was diagnosed with asthma at the age of fifteen, but worked hard to keep it under control and has not let it prevent him from reaching the ultimate in sporting achievements, taking part in the Olympic Games.Barry's additon as Asthma Ambassador provides inspiration particularly for people with asthma. Also, as with all our ambassadors, Barry plays an important part in raising awareness about asthma as a chronic disease, ultimately aiding tthe Asthma Society in our mission to increase the quality of life for asthma patients and our aim of eliminating deaths from asthma in Ireland.

In September 2012 Barry will launch the new Asthma Society App ‘Asthma Coach’, an iPhone asthma management tool which will help people with asthma manage their symptoms, triggers and medication.’
